EASTON, Mass. (February 18, 2020) – Stonehill College men's ice hockey saw sophomore Mike Seoane and senior Matthew Schoen recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their efforts on the ice this week leading the Skyhawks to three-straight wins.

Seoane was named NE10 Player of the Week, while Schoen earned his third Goaltender of the Week honor this season. In a three-game week for the Skyhawks, Stonehill was victories in all three with NE10 wins over Saint Anselm College, 6-4, and two wins over Post University, 4-1 and 5-1. This was the second-straight year that the Skyhawks swept the three-game series over Post University.

Seoane had a hand in each of the three NE10 wins this week as he combined for two goals and two assists. He scored a goal in the win over the Hawks, tallied a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win over the Eagles, and registered another helper in a 5-1 win over Post the next night. He led the team this week with four points, while also skating a +4 on the ice.

The Norwell, Massachusetts native has totaled nine goals and eight assists this season for a career high combining for 17 points. He is currently fourth on the team with 17 points. In the NE10 he is 15th in goals, 26th in points, and 33rd in assists.

Schoen was dominant in the Skyhawks three wins this week. He let up six goals for a 2.00 goals against average, including giving up only one goal in each of the two games against Post. He totaled 119 saves and a .952 save percentage.

The Tolland, Connecticut native has seen career bests in five categories this season, including goals against average, saves, save percentage, wins, and win percentage. In the NE10, Schoen is leading the way in save percentage (.933), second in saves (686) and wins (9), and third in goals against average (2.65).

Stonehill (10-10-4, 7-5-3 NE10) hosts Southern New Hampshire University (9-13-0, 7-8-0 NE10) today, Tuesday, February 18 at Foxboro Sports Center for their final game of the tied (1-1) series against the Penmen. Prior to the game, Stonehill will recognize their 12 seniors. The Skyhawks have entered playoff potential with 17 points, tied for third with Franklin Pierce University (14-10-4, 7-6-3 NE10). Stonehill has won four of their last five games, and have lost just once over the past three weeks.
