Northeast-10 Conference Announces Spring 2020 Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Mass. (July 15, 2020)– The Northeast-10 Conference has announced its Academic Honor Roll for the Spring 2020 semester, recognizing 364 student-athletes from Stonehill who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

The NE10 Academic Honor Roll acknowledges the commitment of NE10 student-athletes in the classroom with three distinctions – Academic Excellence (4.00 GPA), Academic Distinction (3.50-3.99 GPA), and Academic Honors (3.00-3.49 GPA). Of the 4,419 student-athletes that were named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, 364 Skyhawks represented Stonehill, which is 85-percent of the student-athlete population. Stonehill tied for third with LeMoyne College over the 14 NE10 schools and four affiliates, while each institution had at least 63-percent of their student-athletes on the list.

Out of the nine women's teams, three teams had 100-percent representation including women's basketball, golf, and women's tennis, while softball followed with 95-percent, women's soccer with 93-percent, and women's track & field with 92-percent. On the men's side, men's basketball led the way with 93-percent, as men's ice hockey was second with 88-percent. Men's soccer and men's track & field were close together with 84-percent representation for each.

Among the 364 Skyhawk student-athletes named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, 32 earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the interrupted and mostly remote spring semester.

With 23 intercollegiate sports after announcing the addition of women's swimming for the 2020-21 academic year and women's ice hockey for 2021-22, Stonehill boasts one of the top athletic and academic programs in the country. Stonehill has won the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Cup six times, all coming within the last 15 years after earning the award for the winter athletics season in 2019-20. The Skyhawks have received the NCAA Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Achievement each of the first nine years of the program's existence of honoring institutions with an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90-percent or better. Stonehill has earned a 95% Academic Success Ranking (ASR) by the NCAA, which considers the academic success rate of the institution based on the graduation rate of student-athletes, good for tenth among all NCAA Division II institutions, with nine Skyhawk teams receiving a perfect rating of 100%.
