How It Happened:

  • Seoane got the scoring going for the Skyhawks as he netted his eighth goal of the season and ninth goal of his career with assists from Quinn and Scannell at 3:12 in the first period.
  • Thirty seven seconds into the first power play of the game, Saint Anselm took advantage, as Ferraro put away the equalizer at 6:21. Iaculllo sent the puck from the left circle for a one-time blast from Ferraro at the right dot, sending the puck over Schoen's glove, 1-1.
  • Stonehill then reclaimed the lead just over the midway point of the first frame as the Skyhawks scored two goals in two minutes and 21 seconds, 3-1. Page tallied his ninth goal of the season and 18th of his career for a 2-1 lead at 11:31. Meade tapped in his sixth goal of the season and 15th of his career at 13:52, as he found the loose puck following a shot from Hall that went wide and bounced off the end boards.
  • With exactly six minutes gone in the second period, Stonehill extended its lead to three, 4-1. Hall skated down the middle of the slot, battling off a defender as he was able to send in a back-handed shot just floating over the line for his second goal of the season and 19th career tally.
  • The Hawks put away their second power play goal of the game, as Femia received a pass from Chisolm at the 7:42 mark cutting the deficit to two, 4-2.
  • Stonehill put their lead back to three and then quickly extended it to four with two goals in 37 seconds. Conley recorded his first-career power play goal and his third goal of the season at 12:43, followed by Wright's 14th goal of the season and 37th tally of his career at 13:20.

Saint Anselm continued to chip away at the score in the third period netting two goals. Iacullo wristed a shot from the right circle through a screen of players and it flew past Schoen at 10:58 for a 6-3 deficit. Aiello then took a shot in front of the net and the dish took a weird bounce off of Schoen's back finding the back of the net to come within two, 6-4, at 14:22.
  • Stonehill held on for the win as Saint Anselm held on to the shot advantage through the remaining time, 12-2, including when the Hawks pulled their goaltender for an extra man advantage.

Outside the Glass:

  • This was the first win against Saint Anselm College since the 2015-16 season, when Stonehill defeated the Hawks 5-2 on January 26 during regular season play, before Stonehill captured their second NE10 Tournament Championship as the final game was not rescheduled due to a health issue on the Saint Anselm team.
