The Details

  • After a scoreless opening period, the Skyhawks struck first in the second period with less than eight minutes lefts to play (7:40). Walkom won a face-off on the Engineers side of the ice and she shot the puck up to a skating Kenmore who made a nice move that spun around the RPI defender. From there, she put the puck past Rampado's stick side for the 1-0 lead.
  • However, just three minutes later, after Stonehill tried to clear the puck out of their zone, Kaiser grabbed the loose puck and rifled in a wrister past Zukow's left side and evened the contest at one as both sides headed into the final period tied.
  • Similar to the third period, both sides went back and forth and Zukow kept the squad within striking distance as she made multiple clutch saves.  With less than three minutes left (2:33), Sonntag was behind the RPI net and found an open Whaley who sent a one-timer into the back of the net for the 2-1 score.
  • Later in the period after the Engineers pulled Rampado for the extra skater, Stonehill and Zukow kept the Engineers off the board and Petford sent the puck down to the other end of the ice for an empty netter for the 3-1 win.
