FAIRFIELD, Conn. (November 10, 2023) – The Stonehill College women's ice hockey team shut out Sacred Heart University in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) matchup on Friday afternoon, 1-0.

How it Happened
- After a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes of the conference matchup, Stonehill would open the scoring at the 10:11 mark of the first period after Geist redirected a shot off the point from Barrett into the back of the net.

- Stone continued her solid play in net throughout the second period, stopping multiple grade-A scoring chances and preserving a one-goal lead for the Skyhawks in between the pipes.
- Throughout the third period, both sides would go back and forth through the neutral zone, not allowing any prime scoring chances.
- However, midway through the frame, the Skyhawks' top-five nationally ranked penalty kill unit would be called into action, where they would stifle the Pioneer's power play attack to preserve the 1-0 shutout victory.
