Parker and Zukow Earn NEWHA Defensive Player and Goalie of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (October 10, 2023) – Senior captain Grace Parker and junior goalkeeper Hanna Zukow were named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance's (NEWHA) Defensive Player and Goalie of the Week the league announced on Tuesday.

Over the two-game weekend set against the Black Bears of the University of Maine, Zukow stopped a two-game career-high 77 shots, with a season-high of 42 saves coming on Saturday. The Unionville, Ontario native has now been named NEWHA Goaltender of the Week five times throughout their career.

Parker earned her first weekly award at Stonehill after scoring her first goal of the season in the Skyhawks second game of the two-game weekend against Maine on Saturday. Over five collegiate seasons, the goal marked Parker's first of her career.

Stonehill (0-4-0, 0-0-0 NEWHA) opens conference play this weekend hosting Post University in a two-game weekend series at Bridgewater Ice Arena, starting Friday night at 5 P.M.
