USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Men's Track & Field All-Academic Teams

EASTON, Mass. (July 23, 2020)– The Stonehill College men's track & field team has been recognized as a 2020 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization.

In order to qualify for All-Academic Team awards, a squad must post a cumulative team grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Stonehill, which registered a 3.15 team GPA, was among 114 men's teams and 149 women's teams in Division II to earn All-Academic Team status. The highest GPA of 3.62 was represented by Drury. Stonehill matched averages with American International College, Harding University, Tarleton State University, and University of California, San Diego, as eight teams represented the Northeast-10 Conference on the women's side and seven on the men's side.

The 2019-20 team finished fifth at the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championship

At the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championship, the Skyhawks saw six All-Conference performances and finished fifth in the team standings. Sophomore Michel-Ange Siaba led Stonehill with three All-NE10 performances, adding a second-place finish in the triple jump and third place in the heptathlon.

In June, junior hurdler Ethan Famiano and sophomore distance runner Nickolas McNamee most recently represented the Skyhawks as College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® First Team for men's cross country and track & field. McNamee also earned his first NE10 Academic All-Conference award in April for his winter performance. Sophomore Evan Kennedy, who is a neuroscience major, earned Stonehill's third NE10 Elite 24 Award for having the highest grade point among all NE10 Men's Outdoor Track & Field student-athletes.

The Stonehill men's cross country and track & field programs enjoyed a strong 2019-20 season, led by the cross country program qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships for the 17th-straight year with a third-place team finish at the East Regional after posting a second-place finish at the NE10 Championships. The Skyhawks also turned in a fifth-place team finish at the 2020 NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.
