EASTON, Mass. (January 29, 2020) – Stonehill College freshman Cameron Bernard has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Field Rookie of the Week for the second time this season by the league office.

Bernard earns the weekly recognition from the NE10 for the second time in three weeks after helping lead Stonehill to a fourth place team finish at the USM Open, hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday. He scored in two events for the Skyhawks, posting top ten distances on the Conference's performance list in both. Bernard placed third out of 16 entries in the triple jump as he cleared a distance of 43-feet, 5.25-inches, marking the sixth-longest leap in the NE10 this winter. He also finished fourth out of 20 entries in the high jump, clearing a height of 6-feet, 0.75-inches, also ranking sixth on the NE10 performance list this season.

Bernard, who earned NE10 Field Rookie of the Week honors for the first time on January 24, has competed at all four of Stonehill's events in his first collegiate season. He made his event debuts for the high jump and triple jump on Saturday, having also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, 60-meter dash and long jump so far this season. Bernard cleared a season-best 21-feet, 11-inches in the long jump at Harvard University's Beantown Challenge on January 11 (6th place), while posting a season-best time of 8.80-seconds in the 60-meter hurdles (15th) and also clocking in at 7.33-seconds in the 60-meter dash.

Bernard and the Stonehill track and field program are back in action this weekend for the New England Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on Friday and Saturday.
