McNamee Wraps Up at BU Last Chance Qualifier

Plymouth, Massachusetts, sophomore closes out indoor season with personal-best

BOSTON, Mass. (February 28, 2020) – Sophomore Nickolas McNamee closed out the indoor season for the Stonehill College track & field program by competing at the BU Last Chance Qualifier, hosted by Boston University, at the BU Track & Tennis Center this evening.

McNamee made a run at qualifying for the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in the one mile run. He recorded a personal-best time of 4:12.21 to place 39th out of 119 total entries, good for 15th among collegiate runners in the event, which included five milers from perennial NCAA Division I power University of Oregon. McNamee was second among NE10 runners in the event and finished within a second of the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.

Stonehill is next scheduled to return to action for its outdoor opener at the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Saturday, March 28.
