NE10 Football Weekly Report

EASTON, Mass. (October 21, 2019) – Stonehill College senior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this fall by the league office this afternoon.

Jamiel earns NE10 Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the fourth time in his career overall after posting the 13th double-digit reception and 14th 100-yard receiving game of his career against rival Bentley University on Saturday. He caught a touchdown pass, threw for a touchdown and rushed for a two-point conversion in the game in which he finished with season-high totals of 14 receptions and 187 yards. His 27-yard touchdown catch came just two plays after Bentley had scored its second touchdown of the afternoon for a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, before adding a 17-yard touchdown toss to classmate Zac Pungitore with 3:14 to play that knotted the score at 27-27 after Jamiel scampered in the two-point conversion.

Jamiel finished with the fourth-highest single-game reception total and sixth-best receiving yardage total in program history in the contest, posting the second-highest receiving yardage total and fourth-highest reception total in W.B. Mason Stadium history. Jamiel now owns five of the top six single-game reception totals in program history, including a program-record 18 receptions against the University of New Haven in 2016, which he matched against Pace University in 2017. He also owns the top two receiving yardage and four of the top six single-game reception totals in W.B. Mason Stadium history.

Jamiel leads the NE10 and ranks eighth nationally in Division II with 107.8 receiving yards per game after the first six weeks of the season, ranking 16th nationally with his NE10-high 647 yards on 47 receptions, ranking second in the NE10 and seventh nationally with 7.8 receptions per game, posting five touchdown catches to lead the Conference as well. He is averaging 13.8 yards per reception, good for fourth in the NE10, while his 119.5 all-purpose yards per game is fourth. Jamiel has posted three 100-yard receiving games this season, including back-to-back weeks after Saturday's season-high performance, posting double-digit receptions twice and scoring at least a touchdown in four of the Skyhawks six games. He also earned NE10 Offensive Player of the Week honors after Stonehill's week one 33-14 win at Bloomsburg (Pa.) University.

Jamiel, a three-time All-NE10 selection with second team honors as a junior after earning first team accolades his sophomore season, holds Stonehill records for career receptions, yardage and touchdowns after 35 career games. He leads all active receivers in Division II with his program-record 280 career receptions, which ranks third all-time in NE10 history and 19th all-time in Division II, while his program-record 3,230 career yards ranks seventh in Conference history, with a program record 28 career touchdown receptions.

Jamiel, a New England Football Writers Division II/III All-Star as a sophomore, moved into second all-time in Stonehill history with 3,658 career all-purpose yards on Saturday, while his 172 career points scored ranks fourth all-time and 28 total touchdowns second in program history. The 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year, holds Stonehill single-season records for receptions (91 in 2016), ranking third with his 82 catches in 2017 and fifth with 60 in 2018. His 13 touchdown receptions in 2017 are tied for the program record, while his 1,042 receiving yards in 2017 rank second all-time.

Jamiel enters the week two receptions shy of cracking the program's single-season list for the fourth time in his career, 51 yards from moving into the single-season yardage list for the fourth time and two touchdown catches from the top seven for the third time.

Stonehill (4-2, 3-1 NE10) is back in action on Saturday, when it visits Assumption College, receiving votes in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II poll, for a key NE10 clash in Worcester, Massachusetts, at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks return home the following Saturday, November 2, to open a two-game home stand against Southern Connecticut State University at W.B. Mason Stadium at 1 p.m.
