Felder Collects Second NE10 Player of the Week

Springfield Gardens, N.Y., sophomore running back the offensive catalyst in Skyhawks win over AIC on Saturday

EASTON, Mass. (October 7, 2019) – Stonehill College sophomore running back Justin Felder has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks by the league office today.

Felder, who earns the weekly recognition following the second-straight game for Stonehill, was the offensive catalyst in the Skyhawks 31-13 victory over American International College at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday. He went over 100-yards rushing and scored three touchdowns for the second-straight week for Stonehill, finishing with 151 all-purpose yards in the win. Felder rushed the ball 22 times for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while adding another 47 yards on three receptions and a score. He is the first Stonehill player to collect two Offensive Player of the Week honors in the same season since quarterback Matt Foltz, '18 did so as a sophomore in 2015. Felder was also recognized after the Skyhawks 38-14 win at Saint Anselm College on September 21, while senior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel earned the honors after their season-opening 33-14 win at Bloomsburg (Pa.) University on September 7.

Felder is Stonehill's first running back to surpass 100 rushing yards in consecutive games since teammate Brian Kearns, Jr. did so in the season finale at Bentley University in 2016 and then the season-opener at Bloomsburg (Pa.) University in 2017. Felder opened the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown run on Stonehill's third possession of the game to give the Skyhawks a first quarter touchdown and lead for the fourth-straight game. He added a one-yard plunge to put Stonehill up 21-6 just before halftime and then extended the Skyhawks lead to 28-6 with a 41-yard touchdown catch on their first possession of the second half, posting a 23-yard run earlier in the drive.

He ranks 37th nationally in Division II for rushing touchdowns, 42nd in rushing yards per game and 38th in total touchdowns.

Felder has appeared in 12 games over his first two seasons at Stonehill and totaled 766 yards on 175 rushing attempts, with seven touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. He posted 429 yards on 95 rushing attempts in eight games as a freshman, finding the end zone twice and ranking second on the team in rushing. Felder enters this week's game ranked 22nd all-time at Stonehill for rushing yards, 18th in rushing touchdowns and 31st in total touchdowns (nine).
