CoSIDA Announces 2019 Football Academic All-District Teams

Stonehill's All-Time CoSIDA Academic All-District Selections

EASTON, Mass. (November 14, 2019) – Stonehill College junior offensive lineman Derek Ivey has earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® first team for Super Region 1, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the region. Ivey is now eligible for Academic All-America® honors, selected by CoSIDA's Academic All-America® Committee, as well as voters from the region, to be announced on Tuesday, December 10.

Ivey, who has earned a 3.91 cumulative grade point average as an economics major and mathematics minor at the College, is the 13th CoSIDA Academic All-District® selection all-time for the Stonehill football program, its first since Donovan Phanor, '18 in 2017 and seventh since 2012. Ivey has received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award for having a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 and has been named to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll all four semesters to date, receiving Academic Excellence status for having a 4.0 semester GPA in the spring. He is a three-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll member for having a semester GPA of 3.20 or higher and been inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon international honor society in economics.

Ivey, a three-year letterwinner for Stonehill, is in his first season as Stonehill's starting right tackle, starting all nine games this fall. He is a member of a line that has blocked for the top-ranked offense in the NE10, leading the Conference in total offense (418.4 yards per game), while ranking second in scoring offense (33.6 ppg) and rushing offense (197.0 yds/gm) and third for passing offense (221.4 yds/gm). The Skyhawks rank second in the NE10 for fewest sacks allowed (1.78/gm), leading the Conference in team pass efficiency (147.12) and third down offense (46.8-percent) – good for 21st nationally in Division II.

Ivey and his offensive line teammates have paved the way for sophomore running back Justin Felder, a four-time NE10 Offensive Player of the Week and New England Football Writers Gold Helmet Award recipient, who leads the NE10 and ranks seventh in Division II with his school-record 1,349 rushing yards, 14 rushing touchdowns (9th nationally) and 16 total touchdowns (10th) this season.

Stonehill (6-3, 5-2 NE10) is back in action on Saturday, when it closes out the season at the University of New Haven at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks can finish in first place in the NE10 standings with a win or claim the NE10 regular season championship with a win and losses by Assumption College (at Saint Anselm College) and Bentley University (vs. American International College) in their finales.
