Football Adds 18 on National Signing Day

Skyhawks receive commitments from six different states for Class of 2024

EASTON, Mass. (February 6, 2020) – Stonehill College football head coach Eli Gardner has announced that the program has signed 18 prospective student-athletes to National Letters of Intent and will join the program starting with the 2020 season.

"We are very pleased with the young men we have added to our football family here at Stonehill," said Gardner. "The depth of our incoming class as well as their commitment to Stonehill Football and strong academics has created a ton of excitement during this process. I'd like to thank our coaching staff for spending tireless hours recruiting these tremendous student-athletes, as well as those in our compliance department, athletic communications, admissions and financial aid for their huge contributions towards this achievement."

Stonehill's 18 commitments include high school recruits who signed NLIs come from six different states, including Connecticut (5), New Jersey (4), Massachusetts (3), New York (2), Rhode Island (2) and Maryland (1).

Stonehill finished its 2019 season with a 6-4 record overall, including 5-3 in the NE10 to finish in third place in the Conference, just a game out of first place. In addition to Felder's Offensive Player of the Year selection by D2Football.com, head coach Eli Gardner was named the website's NE10 Coach of the Year after leading the Skyhawks resurgence from a 2-8 campaign a year ago and being picked sixth in the NE10 preseason coaches' poll. A program-record 14 from Stonehill earned All-NE10 honors this fall, including a program-best six on the first team, with a program-best five named to the Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Super Region 1 teams.
