The Game
Stonehill College returns home to host rival Bentley University for a key Northeast-10 Conference battle on Timothy J. Coughlin (COG-lin), '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium this afternoon, as part of an Fall Open House Day at the College. The Skyhawks are winners of three-straight after rolling to a 52-0 triumph at Franklin Pierce University last weekend, while the Falcons have dropped their last two since its lone win over the University of New Haven in week three, following a 31-17 setback to Southern Connecticut State University last weekend.

One of the Best Small College Rivalries in the Country
This afternoon marks the 35th meeting all-time between these two programs in what is regarded by some as one of the best small college football rivalries in the country. Bentley holds a 23-10-1 advantage in the all-time series after its 38-10 win in Waltham last season, but Stonehill has won the last three matchups here at W.B. Mason Stadium and five of six at home dating back through 2008. Overall, the Skyhawks are winners of five of the last seven matchup and are 7-5 against the Falcons since ending a string of 14-straight defeats in 2008.

Greene

Earle

They're Honored
Stonehill placed four standouts from its win at Franklin Pierce last week on the NE10's weekly honor roll. Seniors Maurice Greene (Clinton, N.J.) and Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.), junior Casey Earle (Hanover, Mass.) and sophomore Justin Felder (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) were all recognized for their efforts in the win. Greene and Earle led the Skyhawks defensive effort that held Franklin Pierce to 125 total yards, seven first downs and just 3-for-17 on third down in posting its first shutout since 2014. Greene had a career-high seven tackles (three solo), including 2.5 tackles for a loss of 13 yards, with 1.5 sacks for a loss of ten and an additional quarterback hurry. Earle finished with five tackles (one solo), including 1.5 sacks for a loss of 11 and a forced fumble on a strip sack in the third quarter that led to a field goal. Felder posted a career-high 166 yards on 17 carries, averaging 9.8 yards per rush, with three touchdowns. Jamiel caught a season-high 11 passes for a season-best 139 yards and a touchdown.

Top Ranked D
Stonehill boasts the No. 1 statistical defense in Division II at the midway point of the season. The Skyhawks lead the country in total defense (216.2 yds/gm), passing defense (93.0 yds/gm), first downs allowed (11.8/gm) and 3rd down defense (20.6%). The Skyhawks are ranked second nationally for pass efficiency defense (76.22) and second in the NE10 (47th nationally) for rushing defense (123.2 yds/gm).

Academic Success
Stonehill College has once again been recognized for its academic performance with regard to graduation rate by earning a 95-percent Academic Success Rating (ASR) as released by the NCAA this week. The ASR considers the academic success rate of the institution based on the graduation rate of student-athletes while also giving credit for any student-athletes that transferred from the institution while in good academic standing. In addition to Stonehill's overall ASR of 95%, nine of Stonehill's 15 athletic programs (cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field are combined by the NCAA) received perfect scores of 100%. Stonehill's 95% ASR ranks third among NE-10 institutions and tenth overall in NCAA Division II. The football team has an ASR of 87% - well above the federal rate of 77%. Stonehill is one of just 11 institutions to earn the NCAA Division II Presidents' Award all nine years of its existence for having an ASR of 90% or higher.

Fred Mitchell Award Aeptember "Watch List"
Senior kicker Matt Haite (Pembroke, Mass.) has been named to the Fred Mitchell Award's September "Watch List" for his efforts over the opening month of the season. Haite earned NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week two times in the first month of the season and was also named a William V. Campbell Trophy® Semifinalist by the National Football Foundation. He converted 3-of-4 field goals, including a career-best 51-yarder in the Skyhawks win at Saint Anselm, while connecting on 9-of-10 PATs for 18 points. He averaged 62.4 yards on his 15 kickoffs with ten touchbacks through the first three games of the season. Haite is among 38 small college placekickers recognized for his performance in September, incuding one of nine from Division II.

Alone at the Top
Stonehill stands in sole possession of first place in the NE10 standings at the midway point of the season as the lone remaining unbeaten team in Conference play at 3-0. The Skyhawks lead Assumption (3-1) and Pace (3-1) by a half game and New Haven and Southern Connecticut State by a game and a half in their quest to capture their second NE10 Championship and first since 2013.

New Frontier
Stonehill looks to get off to a 4-0 start in NE10 play for the first time in program history with a win today. The Skyhawks have won their first three NE10 games five times in program history, but have lost the fourth Conference game each year.

Three Up, Three Down
Stonehill is off to a 3-0 start in NE10 play for the fifth time in program history and the fourth time over the last seven years. The Skyhawks previously opened with three NE10 wins in 2015, posting a 4-0 record overall, before finishing 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the NE10. Stonehill was also 3-0 in NE10 play in 2013 when it went on to claim a share of the Conference regular season championship at 8-1, finishing 8-3 overall.

Haite ranks second all-time with 102 career made PATs, 11 behind Grzywacz's program record of 113. Haite is also on pace to break Brendan Gorey's '10 program record (93.2%) for career PAT percentage, having converted 93.6% of his extra points this season, while also ranking second all-time for FH conversion per centage (69.4%).

Triple-100s
Sophomore running back Justin Felder (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) has rushed for 100 yards in three-straight games after his career-high 166 yards on 17 carries at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. He posted 104 yards on 22 carries against AIC on October 5 and 139 yards on a career-best 27 carries at Saint Anselm on September 21. Felder is Stonehill's first running back to surpass 100 rushing yards in three consecutive games since Colin Markus '16 reached the 100-yard mark in four-straight games in 2013.

3,000-yard Man
Senior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) is the ninth receiver in Northeast-10 history to surpass 3,000 career receiving yards, reaching  the milestone at Franklin Pierce last week. He is the first Stonehill receiver to reach the mark and now ranks seventh in NE10 history with his program record 3,043 yards on 266 receptions in 34 career games. Jamiel enters today's game 326 yards behind Merrimack's Jere Brown for sixth all-time in NE10 history.

He's Movin' On Up
Sophomore running back Justin Felder (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) has already moved up to a tie for fourth on Stonehill's all-time list for rushing touchdowns in a season with his eight in five games this season, four shy of the program's single-season record of 12 by Eddie Vachon '11 in 2010 and matched by teammate Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, N.J.) last season. He also enters today's game 68 yards shy of becoming one of 17 in program history to reach 1,000 career rushing yards and his ten career rushing touchdowns are four away from cracking the program's career top ten. His nine total touchdowns scored this year is one shy of the program's all-time single season top ten.

Early Bird Gets the Worm
Stonehill has outscored its opponents 108-20 in the first half this season, including 70-14 in the first quarter. The Skyhawks have scored first quarter points in all five games this season, averaging 14.0 first quarter points per game, including touchdowns on its first possession in three of the five games. Stonehill has outscored the opposition 38-6 in the second quarter this fall.

Senior Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) leads all active receivers in Division II with his school-record 266 receptions and 7.79 career receptions per game. He is second among active receivers in the Division with his 89.3 career receiving yards per game and fourth for total receiving yards with his program-record 3,043 career yards.
