Community Day

Groups of Skyhawks spent time in the morning reading at the Easton Children's Museum and at recess at Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton. In the afternoon Stonehill sent groups back to Trinity Catholic for their after school program as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton.

Campbell Trophy Semifinalist
For the sixth time over the last seven years, Stonehill has placed one of its top student-athletes among the semifinalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy®, presented by Mazda, the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Football Hall of Fame announced. Senior placekicker Matt Haite (Pembroke, Mass.) is among an impressive list of 185 semifinalists across all levels of college football, including 19 from NCAA Division II and one of just two from the Northeast-10 Conference. Haite has earned a 3.37 cumulative grade point average as an economics major at Stonehill, with a minor in sport commerce and culture. On the field, Haite is an All-NE10 third team selection as a junior and has been selected to The Fred Mitchell Award Preseason "Watch List" four times over his career. Haite is also active in the community, volunteering his time in his hometown with the Kingston Police Department "Night Out" program, Kingston Recreational Summer Camp, NFL Flag football program and the Silver Lake Youth Basketball Association. Named in honor of the late Bill Campbell, former chairman of Intuit, former player and head coach at Columbia University and the 2004 recipient of the NFF's Gold Medal, the Campbell Trophy® Presented by Mazda is a 25-pound bronze trophy and increases the amount of the recipient's grant by $7,000 for a total postgraduate scholarship of $25,000. Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the awards must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship. The class is selected each year by the NFF Awards Committee, which is comprised of a nationally recognized group of media, College Football Hall of Famers and athletics administrators. The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists on October 30, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2019 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class presented by Fidelity Investments.

Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore running back Justin Felder (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career for his efforts in Stonehill's 38-14 win at Saint Anselm in week three. Felder rushed for three touchdowns in the opening quarter to spur Stonehill to a 21-0 lead it would not relinquish on the way to victory. He went over 100 yards rushing for the first time in his career, posting career-highs for rushing attempts, yards and nearly matching a program record for touchdowns in a game. Felder finished with 139 yards on 27 carries and the three touchdowns, all in the first quarter, when he racked up 76 yards on 11 attempts. He joins senior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) in collecting Offensive Player of the Week accolades this season.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Senior placekicker Matt Haite (Pembroke, Mass.) was named the NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season and third of his career after Stonehill's 38-14 win at Saint Anselm. Haite, who also earned NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week honors following Stonehill's week one win at Bloomsburg, totaled eight points in the Saint Anselm win, while averaging 64.4 yards with six touchbacks on his seven kickoffs. He converted all five extra points and capped the Skyhawks scoring on the night when he drilled a career-best 51-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Haite scored nine points by converting two field goals and three extra points in the win at Bloomsburg. He earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the first time on September 5, 2016.

Rookie of the Week
Junior quarterback Anton Stoneking (Clayton, N.C.) earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors for his efforts in steering the Stonehill offense in its 38-14 win at Saint Anselm in week three. He completed 15-of-24 passes for a career-best 188 yards and two touchdowns on the night, finishing with 205 total yards.

Battle for the Ol' Bronze Hawk
Stonehill holds a 15-0 all-time record in the "Battle for the Ol' Bronze Hawk" after its 38-14 win over Saint Anselm in Manchester two weeks ago. The "Ol' Bronze Hawk" is given to the winner of the annual football matchup between the Skyhawks and Hawks and was unveiled in 2006. Stonehill has held possession of the valued hardware each of the 15 years so far, outscoring Saint Anselm 554-289 in that time. Stonehill has won 16-straight meetings overall between the two and is now 17-5 all-time against the Hawks.

One Play, Two Records
Senior wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) broke two program career records with his 51-yard touchdown catch and run in the third quarter of Stonehill's 38-14 win at Saint Anselm. It marked his 26th career receiving touchdown, breaking Nate Robitaille, '15's previous mark of 25, and also broke Robitaille's career receiving yardage record of 2,744. Jamiel now holds all three major career receiving records with his 2,815 yards, 248 receptions and 26 touchdown catches, having broken Robitaille's receptions mark (196) last season.

Splitting the Uprights
Senior placekicker Matt Haite (Pembroke, Mass.) is ranked second in program history with 32 career field goals made, only one shy of the program record of 33 by Steve Grzywacz, '16 (GRIZ-wack). Haite has also moved into second all-time with 91 career made PATs, 22 behind Grzywacz's program record of 113. Haite currently ranks second all-time for career PAT percentage (92.9%) and FG conversion percentage (69.6%).

A-Bresson of the Situation
Junior defensive lineman Nate Bresson (Torrington, Conn.) is just one tackle for loss away from cracking the program's career top ten with his 26.0 tackles for loss in 23 career games played, after posting a pair of TFLs in each of the last two games. He finished his sophomore year ranked second in the NE10 (47th nationally) with his career-best 14 tackles for loss (56 yards).
