EASTON, Mass. (April 24, 2022)- Stonehill baseball wrapped up its four-game Northeast-10 Conference series against Franklin Pierce by dropping Sunday's game by a score of 13-11 at Lou Gorman Field Sunday afternoon.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Franklin Pierce started off the scoring with two runs in the first that featured an RBI courtesy of an Ian Battiglia sacrifice fly.
  • In the next two innings, Stonehill chipped away at the Ravens lead before eventually pulling ahead. In the first inning, Farragher drove in Lucier off an RBI double sent to left center. The second inning is where the Skyhawks recaptured the lead after Kiely ripped a double down the left-field line and made it 3-2.
  • Despite the one-run lead, Franklin Pierce came back with four runs in the third which made it 6-3. In the Ravens big inning, they were led by Jethro Hurt who collected a two-run RBI double that gave Franklin Pierce its fifth and sixth runs.
  • After Lidsky hit his NE10 tying 11th home run in the bottom of the third, Stonehill scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game yet again (6-6).
  • Although the Skyhawks were able to tie things up at six, Franklin Pierce posted their biggest inning of the afternoon when they tacked on six runs in the top of the fifth (12-6). In their high-scoring inning, the Ravens were led by a Randy Flores two-run RBI single that made it 10-6 at the time.
  • Stonehill did not go quietly though as they posted their highest-scoring inning when the Skyhawks posted four runs in the bottom of the seventh (12-10). Taylor highlighted the Skyhawks scoring efforts in that frame as he recorded a two-run RBI triple that went all the way to right-center. In the next at-bat, Gaspar cut it to two when he sent a single through the left side to bring home Taylor.
  • The Ravens added one more run in the ninth to go ahead 13-10 but the Skyhawks yet again cut the deficit to two when Gaspar hit a sacrifice fly to left field to make it 13-11 with two outs. However, Franklin Pierce ended Stonehill's rally by inducing a groundout to secure the win.
