Lidsky Earned His First NE10 Award and Haas Garnered His Second NE10 Award

EASTON, Mass. (March 14, 2022)- Stonehill College baseball's junior Blaine Lidsky was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as freshman Peter Haas was tabbed NE10 Rookie of the Week, announced by the League on Monday. For Lidsky, it his first career NE10 weekly honor and Haas' second Rookie of the Week award. 

The Skyhawks currently sit at 7-9 after returning from their Florida trip and in those games, Stonehill scored 10 or more runs in four of those contests. The purple and white are also winners in three of their last five games that include a 7-3 win against Saint Thomas Aquinas College, a 16-4 triumph over American International College, and a 14-2 victory versus Caldwell University. 

Lidsky had a strong week for Stonehill, hitting a blistering.438 (14-32) that also included three home runs. His best game came against American International in a 7-6 thriller where he batted .800 (4-5) and belted a two-run homer that at the time gave the Skyhawks a 4-2 lead. During his week in Florida, Lidsky had four multi-hit games and is currently on a 10-game hit streak.

Overall on the season, Lidsky is batting .400 (24-60) and leads the team in many offensive categories including hits (24), doubles (six), home runs (five), RBIs (18), and slugging percentage (.700). In regards to the conference, Lidsky now leads the NE10 in multiple offensive categories including hits, home runs, and RBIs.

In his start last week, Haas continued his strong start for Stonehill going six innings allowing a career-low four hits, and fanning a career-high nine batters in Stonehill's 16-4 win over American International. So far in the year, Haas leads the Skyhawks in wins (two), strikeouts (22), and ERA (2.25). As for his place in the NE10, Haas is ranked in the top-10 in wins (tied for third), strikeouts (tied for sixth), and ERA (seventh).

Coming up this week for Stonehill, the Skyhawks start off a three-game home series against The College of Saint Rose starting Saturday, March 19 at noon.
