EASTON, Mass. (March 18, 2022) – The Stonehill College baseball secured two wins against The College of Saint Rose Friday afternoon at Taunton High School in non-conference play with scores of 10-1 and 8-6.

Game 1: Stonehill 8, Saint Rose 7

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Saint Rose struck quickly scoring three runs in the first two innings highlighted by a Derek Haughey home run in the first inning.
  • After the Golden Knights added one more run in the top of the fourth (4-0), the Skyhawks got one back (4-1) after Taylor ripped a single to left that scored Swanholm after he doubled earlier in the inning.
  • Once Saint Rose made it 5-1, Stonehill exploded for five runs in the sixth (6-5) to reclaim the lead from the Golden Knights. Kiely cut the deficit down to one (5-4) when he singled up the middle but it was Lucier's two-run RBI triple that gave the Skyhawks the lead heading into the final frame.
  • However, Saint Rose tied it back up (6-6) when Remmington Almarante doubled to right-center. Later in the eighth, Zephaniah Vaughn singled to left-center for the 7-6 lead going into the bottom of the eighth.
  • Stonehill's first two batters were retired quickly but Lucier kept the inning alive after he singled to right field. In the next at-bat, Farragher got the pitch he wanted and hit a walk-off home run for the 8-7 Stonehill victory.
