Baseball Downed By Bentley In First Florida Game

WINTER PARK, FLA. (March 4, 2022)- On their first day in Florida, the Stonehill College baseball team fell to Bentley University, 18-2 Friday evening at Alfond Stadium.

Standout Performers:  

Key Moments:

  • Stonehill struck first in the top of the third inning when Farragher ripped a single through the left side that ended up scoring Kiely who had reached via single earlier in the inning. 
  • However, Bentley broke things open in the fifth when the Falcons ended up scoring ten runs (10-1) that featured an RBI double from Joe Boushell
  • In the sixth inning, Bentley added five more runs (15-1) which included an RBI double from Steve Rizzuto.
  • Bentley continued their offensive outburst as they scored three runs in the seventh (18-1) led by an Eddy Beauregard three-run home run. 
  • The Skyhawks ended up getting one run back in the ninth (18-2) when Kiely drove in Chris Roberti who reached base via a walk earlier in the inning. Despite having Sam Kidder get to third (reached from a single earlier in the inning), Stonehill was not able to get him home to continue the rally.
