PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 10, 2022)- After meeting earlier in the season at Myrtle Beach (Stonehill won 3-2), Stonehill College, and St. Thomas Aquinas met again Thursday night where the Skyhawks grabbed another victory over the Spartans, 7-3. Both Matt Farragher and Noah Lucier each recorded two-run RBIs for the Skyhawks whereas Conor Kiely and Blaine Lidsky also had RBIs.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Stonehill starter, Luke Marshall kept the Spartans at bay through the first four innings as the senior allowed just one hit and struck out five. However, St. Thomas grabbed the lead in the fifth after a two-run RBI single from Gregory DiGiaro.
  • Despite being down two for the next three innings, the Skyhawks broke things open in the eighth when the squad exploded for seven runs (7-2).
  • In Stonehill's massive inning, Farragher and Lucier had two-run RBIs. Farragher ripped a single that ended up scoring Chris Roberti and Ryan Douglas. During the very next at-bat, Lucier hit a two-run RBI triple that saw Kiely and Farragher cross home plate.
  • Zach Gleason had taken over pitching duties in the sixth and shut down the Spartan bats. Gleason allowed just one run while striking out a career-high six batters. After giving up his one run in the bottom of the eighth, Gleason got out of a jam with a runner on second by striking out the next batter.
  • Gleason sealed the victory for Stonehill in the ninth when he retired St. Thomas batters, one-two-three including a strikeout too.
