Ice Hockey and Saint Anselm Skate to 3-3 Tie (OT)

MANCHESTER, N.H. (November 12, 2021) - Junior goaltender John Day registered a career-high 44 saves and Stonehill College remained unbeaten in Northeast-10 Conference play after a 3-3 overtime deadlock against Saint Anselm College in NE10 ice hockey action at Sullivan Arena tonight.

The Details

  • Day made 17 of his 44 saves in the third period alone, posting his first 40-save effort in just his fifth career start.
  • Stonehill got goals from three different players, including the first collegiate goals for senior Joshua Loveridge and sophomore Andrew Gotts.
  • Junior Jack Murphy led Saint Anselm with a goal and assist, while senior Trevor Hott dished two assists.
  • Junior Nick Howard finished with 21 saves in the Saint Anselm goal.
  • Trailing by a goal after a period of play, Stonehill evened the score just 32-seconds into the second with Loveridge's first career goal, assisted by junior John Peloso.
  • Saint Anselm pulled even just five minutes later when senior Anthony Iacullo scored off a feed from freshman Max Burum.
  • Gotts drew Stonehill even once again with 7:54 left in the second, assisted by freshman Nolan FitzPatrick, with his first career goal.
  • Stonehill grabbed its first lead with 7:48 remaining in regulation as senior Mike Seoane potted his third goal of the season (14th career), from junior Brendan Nehmer.
  • However, Saint Anselm was able to draw level to force overtime with Murphy's goal, assisted by Hott and freshman Chase Reynolds with 4:14 to play.
  • Stonehill was able to produce six shots in the three-on-three overtime period, compared to two for the hosts, but neither was able to find a winner.
