EASTON, Mass. (November 8, 2021) – Stonehill College freshman goaltender Gavin FitzPatrick has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week in ice hockey by the league office today.

FitzPatrick made his collegiate debut with the start in goal in Saturday night's 5-3 win over Franklin Pierce University in Stonehill's home opener. He earned his first collegiate win with a 25 save performance in the victory as the Skyhawks completed a 2-0 week to open NE10 play. He posted 11 saves in the third period alone as Stonehill preserved a 5-2 lead heading into the final frame. FitzPatrick also collected an assist in the debut, being credited with the secondary helper on junior John Peloso's goal to complete his hat trick 2:13 into the third period.

Stonehill (2-2-0, 2-0-0 NE10) is back on the ice this weekend for an NE10 weekend series at Saint Anselm College on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop on Friday night is 7 p.m., with Saturday's finale set for 4 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday, November 20, to host Southern New Hampshire University for an NE10 clash at the Bridgewater Ice Arena at 4:30 p.m.
