Key Moments

  • After Bryant jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, Stonehill responded in the bottom half of the first with a three-run inning. Jack Marshall highlighted the inning with a go-ahead RBI double that made it 2-1 at the time and it marked his 16th run batted in this season.
  • However, the Bulldogs responded in the next half inning when the visitors plated three runs that included an RBI double from Zac Zyons which put Bryant ahead 4-3. The Skyhawks responded yet again in the bottom half of the frame when Kiely ripped an RBI double to a gap in right-center that brought home Matthew Vivona for the tying run after he singled earlier. The senior outfielder has now recorded two hits in his past four games and has now posted at least one hit in seven of his last eight contests.
  • Despite tying the game at four, Bryant retook the lead thanks to five runs scored between the third and fourth innings to go up 9-4 highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Lewis Barnum.
  • Later in the contest though, the Purple and White trimmed the deficit down to one (9-8) after scoring four runs during the fifth and sixth innings. In Stonehill's three-run fifth, Ciulla-Hall had a two-run RBI double that cut it to 9-6 and later in the inning, Gaspar had an RBI single of his own that made it 9-7. In the next inning during the bottom of the sixth, Ciulla-Hall drove in the squad's eighth run despite grounding into a double play.
  • Although Stonehill made a late push, the Bulldogs ultimately pulled ahead thanks to a nine-run eighth inning after scoring twice in the seventh for the 12-run lead (20-8).
