EASTON, Mass. (April 25, 2023)- Stonehill College baseball senior pitcher, Matt Tyman was named the Northeast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference earlier today.

In last week's doubleheader sweep of Delaware State, Tyman came through for the Skyhawks in what turned out to be a classic pitcher's duel in game one. Tyman threw his first career complete game and allowed just five hits and fanned a season-high six batters. Tyman's nine-inning complete game is the first for Stonehill since Jonathan Rice did so last year against Bentley (May 8).

Overall this year, Tyman has already surpassed multiple career highs including innings pitched (36.1) and 26 while also having a career-low ERA of 6.44. In terms of the conference, Tyman ranks within the top 10 (ninth) of hits allowed (45).

This week Stonehill continues its seven-game homestand when the squad hosts Mitchell College tomorrow, April 26 at 3:30 p.m. The Skyhawks then wrap up the week with a three-game weekend NEC series hosting Merrimack College starting on Friday, April 28 at 3 p.m.
