MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 1, 2022)- The Stonehill College baseball team wrapped up their Northeast-10 Conference series finale at Saint Anselm Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Park Sunday afternoon as the Hawks topped the Skyhawks, 11-6.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Saint Anselm struck first in today's contest after a Salvatore Pezzolla RBI double to make it 1-0 Hawks early on.
  • However, Stonehill bounced right back in the top of the third and tied things at one. Lucier ripped an RBI single through the right side that allowed Chris Roberti to score after he was hit by a pitch earlier in the frame.
  • Despite being tied, the Hawks recaptured the lead with a two-run bottom of the third that featured a Brady Doran RBI single that put Saint Anselm back on top 2-1 at the time.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, Saint Anselm posted their largest scoring inning with three runs which pushed their lead to 6-1. Two of the three runs were scored by a Doran two-run RBI double.
  • The Skyhawks cut the deficit down to four (6-2) after Lidsky singled to left and brought home Kiely after he capitalized on a throwing error by the Hawks second basemen.
  • After another two-run inning by Saint Anselm to make it 9-2, Stonehill responded with a two-run inning of their own to cut the lead to five (9-4). Farragher sent a double down the left field line which plated Lucier after he singled earlier in the inning. After a Lidsky single, Trey Ciulla-Hall drove in the fourth Stonehill run by bringing home Farragher.
  • Saint Anselm posted their third two-run inning in the seventh to make it 11-4, but Stonehill again would add on two runs in the eighth for it to be 11-6. Kidder registered an RBI on a groundout, to score Mike Swanholm who reached on an error. Later in the inning, Lidsky drew a bases-loaded walk to allow Roberti to cross the plate.
  • Stonehill led off the ninth with a single by Swanholm and despite getting the lead runner on base, Saint Anselm would hold on for the win to split the four-game series.
