WORCESTER, Mass. (April 9, 2022)-In a game that Assumption University either led or maintained a tie for 11 innings, Blaine Lidsky gave Stonehill their first lead with a late RBI triple in the 12th inning that proved to be the eventual game-winning RBI. The Skyhawks topped the Greyhounds by a score of 6-5 in exciting Northeast-10 Conference action in Stonehill's first-ever appearance at Polar Park, home of the Worcester WooSox.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Assumption jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second that featured a two-run RBI double from Christopher Rabias. However, in the top of the fourth, the Skyhawks tied things back up at three when Roberti hit a double to right field that plated both Brandon Taylor and Jack Marshall. Prior to Roberti's tying two-run RBI, Marshall drove in Farragher for Stonehill's first run off an RBI double to left.
  • After a rain delay in the fifth inning, the Greyhounds took the lead three frames later in the eighth behind a Connor Wironen two-run RBI single to make it 5-3.
  • Down one out already in the ninth, Roberti reached first after a hard hit was bobbled by the Greyhounds third basemen that allowed Taylor to score who had walked to lead off the inning. Later in the inning down to their last out, Kiely came up huge for the purple and white when he ripped an RBI single through the right side and tied the contest at five.
  • Going into extra innings, Tyman came up huge for Stonehill as he kept the Assumption offense at bay with four scoreless innings and struck out a season-best six batters. During the 11th inning, the Greyhounds had runners on first and third with just one out, however, Tyman struck out the next batter and then forced a flyout to escape the jam.
  • With two outs in the 12th, Farragher kept the inning alive for Stonehill after a single through the left side. In the next at-bat, Lidsky sent a deep drive to center over the Assumption fielder's head which allowed for Farragher to score and Lidsky reached third on a stand up RBI triple.
  • Tyman sealed the win for Stonehill in the bottom half of the frame with a one-two-three inning.
