EASTON, Mass. (March 21, 2022)- For the third week in a row, Stonehill College freshman pitcher, Peter Haas has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Last week in the team's first game action since returning from Florida, Stonehill hosted The College of Saint Rose in a four-game series in which the Skyhawks took three out of four from the Golden Knights. The purple and white currently sit at 10-10 and in Stonehill's wins against Saint Rose, the Skyhawks scored five or more runs in two out of the four matchups.
One of those wins had Haas toss his first collegiate complete game and shut out by a score of 3-0. Overall on the day, Haas tied his season-low for hits (four) and stuck out a career-high 11 batters across the seven-inning contest. On the season, Haas leads the team in multiple categories including strikeouts (33), ERA (1.67), and K/9 (11.00). In each of his starts, Haas has gone at least six innings and struck out five or more batters while not allowing one run in his last three outings.
In terms of the NE10, Haas is a top-10 pitcher as he is ranked in the top-10 in the following categories: strikeouts (fourth) and ERA (seventh).
Coming up this week for Stonehill, the squad heads out on the road for a four-game series against Southern New Hampshire University starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
