EASTON, Mass. (March 17, 2022)-For the first time in his career, Stonehill junior catcher, Blaine Lidsky has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II East Region Hitter of the Week as announced by the organization earlier this afternoon. 

Lidsky continued to rack up the awards for his strong week in Florida last week after already being named the  Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Last week in Florida, he hit a staggering.438 (14-32) that also featured three home runs. His strongest game came against American International in a 7-6 thriller where he batted .800 (4-5) and belted a two-run homer that at the time gave the Skyhawks a 4-2 lead. Also during his week, Lidsky had four multi-hit games and is currently on a 10-game hit streak.

Overall on the season, Lidsky is batting .400 (24-60) and leads the team in many offensive categories including hits (24), doubles (six), home runs (five), RBIs (18), and slugging percentage (.700). In regards to the conference, Lidsky leads the NE10 in multiple offensive categories including hits, home runs, and RBIs.

Coming up this week for Stonehill, the Skyhawks start off a four-game series against The College of Saint Rose in a doubleheader starting tomorrow at 1 p.m.
