ORLANDO, Fla. (March 6, 2024) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team fell to the College of Charleston at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, 6-1, Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Skyhawks drop to 4-7 overall, while the Cougars improve to 7-4 on the year.

Highlights

Junior Mattia Bernardi and sophomore Eddie Vo led five double-winners for Charleston in the victory.
Graduate student Pietro Martinetti, junior Matias Gaedechens, and sophomore Jordyn Larke also earned singles and doubles wins for the Cougars.
Senior Zac Larke capped off the doubles sweep for Charleston alongside brother Jordyn at No. 3 doubles.
Freshman Jacob Borch-Nielsen picked up the lone victory for the Skyhawks at No.1 singles.

How It Happened

Bernardi and Vo teamed up to take down Borch-Nielsen and junior Jacob Wilhelm Krefting, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles, before the Larke brothers defeated senior Louis Coppi and sophomore Mark Kröll, 6-3, at the No. 3 slot.
Gaedechens and Rojas Mora clinched the doubles point for the Cougars against the sophomore duo of Mateo Mallen and Mathias Langaard.
The Cougars took five of the six singles matches, not dropping a set against the Skyhawks.
Borch-Nielsen earned the lone point for the Skyhawks with a win by retirement at No. 1 singles against Zac Larke.
