ITHACA, N.Y. (October 27-29, 2023) – Members of the Stonehill men's tennis team competed this weekend at the Cornell Invitational, held at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca, N.Y.
Freshman Jacob Borch-Nielsen highlighted the Skyhawks over the weekend earning a pair of singles victories, while also combining with sophomore Mark Kröll for a win in doubles competition on Friday. Borch-Nielsen defeated junior Gurustat Makkar in the opening round, 6-1, 6-1, on Friday before taking down freshman Vid Maric of Niagara on Saturday in the round of 32, 6-3, 6-2.
Borch-Nielsen and Kroll combined on Friday for their fourth doubles victory of the season after defeating Makkar and junior Rohan Srivastava of Niagara 9-7. Kroll also took home a win in singles competition on Saturday in the round of 32 over junior Maxwell Moadel of Cornell University, 6-2, 7-6.
