Micheloni and Alfaro lead four double-winners for Golden Eagles

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 5, 2024) – Cornerstone University posted a 7-0 victory over Stonehill College in a non-conference men's tennis match during the Skyhawks annual Spring Break trip at the United States Tennis Association (UTSA) National Campus this afternoon.

  • Borch-Nielsen and Krefting battled to a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles over Castellanos and Azurduy.
  • Cornerstone won all six singles matches, with Castellanos topping Borch-Nielsen by just a single break at No. 1, 7-6, 6-4.

  • Alfaro also fought back from a set down at No. 4 singles for a 5-7, 6-4, 11-9 decision over Stonehill freshman Armaan Mullick.

Stonehill (4-6, 1-2 NEC) is right back on the courts tomorrow when it faces College of Charleston at the USTA National Campus at 11 a.m. The Skyhawks next home match is Saturday, March 16, when they host Saint Francis University for an NEC match. Cornerstone (5-5, 0-0 WHAC) faces Spring Arbor University in its second match of the day in Orlando.
