EASTON, Mass. (May 16, 2023)- Stonehill College baseball senior Blaine Lidsky and redshirt freshman, Sam Parks were named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the conference earlier this afternoon.

Lidsky was on a scorcher last week as he posted 11 hits with three of the four games being three-hit performances and he also drove in eight RBIs as well. His strongest game came last Saturday in a 14-2 win over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he tallied three hits and drove in a career-high five RBIs. Lidsky has now had four three-hit games on the year and has driven in multiple RBIs in six contests and in those games, the Skyhawks are 6-0. For Lidsky, this week's award is his first weekly NEC recognition and he also earned himself Prime Performer honors too.

Meanwhile, for Parks, this week's Rookie of the Week honor is his second of the year. Last week for the Purple and White, Parks recorded a hit in all four games and the last two included multi-hit contests. In Saturday's 14-2 win over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, the redshirt freshman tied his career-high in hits (three) and two of his three hits were doubles. In Sunday's win that clinched the sweep over Maryland Eastern Shore, Parks tallied two hits (one double) and drove in two runs. Parks now increased his on-base percentage to an impressive .473 which leads the team and is ranked in the top five of the conference (fourth).

Also garnering Prime Performer honors was Ryan Douglas for his stellar outing in Sunday's 13-2 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore. In Sunday's contest, Douglas did not allow a single Maryland Eastern Shore hit through seven and two-thirds innings of work and tied his career-high in strikeouts with six.

Stonehill wraps up its final week in its Division I season when the Skyhawks host Bryant University today for a 3:30 p.m. matchup and then conclude the season with a three-game set at Central Connecticut State University starting on Thursday, May 18 at 3:30 p.m.
