Standout Performances

Key Moments

  • Just like the previous two games, Stonehill struck first once again when the Skyhawks plated two runs courtesy of RBIs from both Jack Marshall and Roberti. Marshall drove in the opening run with an RBI single to left that brought home Parks after he hit a single past second. In the next at-bat, Roberti brought in the second run with an RBI single to right which was far enough to let Trey Ciulla-Hall score after he captialized on an error earlier in the frame.
  • Stonehill's starter, Ryan Douglas, had an efficent outing as the sophomore did not allow a single Maryland Eastern Shore hit through the first seven innings. Thanks to the strong pitching from Douglas, this allowed the Skyhawks to continue and build their lead throughout the day.
  • The Purple and White had their strongest innings when the squad posted five and four runs respectively in both the bottom of the fourth and fifth. In Stonehill's largest scoring inning, Parks highlighted the outburst with an RBI double to left that brought Kiely home and made it 4-0 at the time. Later in the fifth, Lidsky had the biggest hit of the inning with a bases clearing RBI double that scored three runs and made it 11-0.
  • After the Hawks finally got on the board after a sacrifice fly in the sixth, Stonehill responded in the bottom half of the inning with two more runs and pushed its lead up to 12 (13-1). In the seventh, Maryland Eastern Shore eventually broke up Douglas' no hitter when Kyle Cincinnati singled back up the middle. Despite the single, Douglas escaped trhe inning when he induced a groundout to cap off his strong outing.
  • The Hawks would go on again to add another run to the scoreboard but relief pitcher, Jonanthan Rice, allowed only that run as the graduate student shut down Maryland Eastern Shore's offense the rest of the way and secured the series sweep.
