Hickey Selected To NE-10 Tournament All-Championship Team

EASTON, Mass. (November 6, 2011) – Stonehill College women's soccer senior goalkeeper/forward Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass./Lee) has been selected to the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Tournament All-Championship Team. The announcement was made today at the conclusion of the NE-10 Women's Soccer Championships in Albany, N.Y. 

In two games in the NE-10 Tournament, Hickey scored one goal and dished out one assist, both coming in a 3-2 win over Southern Connecticut State University in the quarterfinal round, to help the Skyhawks advance to the NE-10 semifinal round for eighth time in program history. 

Stonehill fell to eventual NE-10 Tournament champion Saint Rose, 2-0, in the semifinal round. 

Overall on the season, Hickey finished with five goals and two assists to rank second on the team points with 12 in 14 games played (11 starts). Hickey, who transitioned from goalie to forward midway through the season due to injuries up front, also played five games in goal (four starts) posting a 3-1-0 record in 405 minutes of play allowing two goals for a 0.44 goals against average and 20 saves. 

Over the course of her four-year career at Stonehill, Hickey posted a 20-19-3 record overall in 44 games played stopping 225 shots to go along with 11 shutouts. 

Hickey and the rest of the Stonehill College women's soccer team will now await word on a hopeful at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament which will be announced on Monday, November 7 at 7 p.m.
