Nagle Earns Daktronics All-East Region Honors

Junior back guided Stonehill to best goals against average in NE-10 play

EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2011) – Stonehill College junior Sara Nagle (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) has been selected to the Daktronics All-East Region women's soccer second team, as determined by a vote of sports information directors in the East Region.

Nagle, who is a first-time All-East Region honoree, led the Skyhawks back line to 10 shutouts this season, the best goals against average (GAA) in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) play at 0.58 and the third-best GAA overall in the NE-10 at 0.68. For her efforts, Nagle was selected to the NE-10 All-Conference first team for the first time in her career.

Nagle also earned CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District second team honors and became the first player in Stonehill College women's soccer program history to earn the Defensive Player of the Week award from the NE-10 on September 6 holding Nyack College and Caldwell College to just one shot on goal in a 2-0 week for the Skyhawks.

Nagle, who has played and started in every game of her career at Stonehill, helped the Skyhawks reach the NE-10 Tournament semifinal round before falling to eventual champion the College of Saint Rose, 2-0. Stonehill finished its season 11-7-2 overall and 8-5-2 in the NE-10.
