EASTON, Mass. (October 2, 2021) - Stonehill College posted its fifth-straight win and tenth over its last 11 matches overall with a three-set sweep of Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball action at Merkert Gymnasium this afternoon.
The Details
- Senior Abby Remick led a pair of Stonehill players with double-digit kills with 12, marking her third-straight double-digit match and ninth this season overall, hitting .281 for the match to go with two service aces and two digs.
- Sophomore Jentry Allen added ten kills and a .300 hitting percentage, for her third double-figure kill total in four matches and fourth for the season overall.

Senior Lauren Wilke dished out 36 assists to go with eight digs, three block assists and a service ace.

- The opening set was tied at 16 when Stonehill reeled off a six-point run on Russell's serve to open a 22-16 lead, with Remick posting three kills during the run.
- SNHU was able to creep back within two (24-22), but Allen clinched the opening set with a kill.
- Russell's serve in the second set opened a seven-point lead (20-13) after a kill by junior Basia Peragine. SNHU would draw within three (20-17), but Stonehill recorded three blocks, with senior Shannon Burgess in on all of them, including a solo, to go with a Russell ace.
- Stonehill jumped out to a five-point lead in the third on Remick's serve, including two aces. The Skyhawks led by as much as eight on two occasions in the set before seeing off the match.

Stonehill (10-5, 2-0 NE10) returns to action on Tuesday night, when it visits Southern Connecticut State University for an NE10 match at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday, October 16, to host Saint Michael's College for its Dig Pink match at Merkert Gym at 6 p.m. SNHU (5-6, 1-2 NE10) hosts Assumption University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
