EASTON, Mass. (September 21, 2021) – Stonehill College posted its sixth win over its last seven matches with a 3-0 sweep of rival Bentley University in non-conference volleyball action at Merkert Gymnasium tonight.

    Senior Abby Remick posted a double-double with ten kills and ten digs to lead Stonehill to its sixth win over its last seven matches with a 3-0 non-conference triumph over rival Bentley University at Merkert Gymnasium tonight.
  • Senior Lauren Wilke helped engineer the attack with 18 assists.
  • Senior Clare Feeman added seven kills without an error for a .583 hitting percentage, with six blocks (one solo), while junior Basia Peragine chipped in with six kills and four block assists.
  • Stonehill fell behind early in the opening set 7-3 but battled back with a 9-4 run to take its first lead of the match (12-11) after a Bentley attack error.
  • Knotted at 21-all, senior Shannon Burgess, who led the Skyhawks with three service aces, served out the set with two aces, while Remick added a kill as well.
  • Stonehill was able to stake out leads in the second and third sets to close out the match. The Skyhawks were up 19-13 in the third set after another Burgess ace, before Bentley emerged from a timeout and was able to close within 23-20 to force a Stonehill timeout. The Skyhawks settled and clinched the match with kills from Feeman and sophomore Jentry Allen.

Stonehill (6-5, 0-0 NE10) is right back in action at Merkert Gym on Thursday as it hosts Saint Anselm College for another non-conference match at 7 p.m. Bentley (4-6, 0-0 NE10) visits Southern New Hampshire University for its NE10 opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
