NEC Second Round Recap

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (April 20, 2024) – Freshman Kenna Roman broke her own program record for a championship event one day after setting it and moved up to 12th on the individual leaderboard to lead Stonehill College in the second round of the 2024 Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship on the 6,050-yard, par-70 layout at the Callaway Resort & Gardens Lake View Course today.

Roman will head into Sunday's third and final round of the NEC Championship in 12th place in the field of 61 golfers on the individual leaderboard after trimming one stroke off her own championship record score of 75 set in Friday's first round with a four-over-par 74 today. Her two-round score of 149 (+9) is a new program-best for two rounds at a championship, besting the previous mark of 164 by Alexis Annarummo at the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Roman carded two birdies today, her first on the par-4 17th hole for the second-straight day on her way to a three-over-par 37 on the back nine – her first nine of the day. She followed that up with six of her nine total pars on the front nine, along with a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole in posting a front nine score of one-over-par 37 to conclude her day.
