Women's Golf Finishes Quinnipiac Classic Tenth

DeBoise is top Skyhawk finisher tied for 36 after team-low 80 today

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (October 10, 2023) – Stonehill College wrapped up play at the Quinnipiac College with a tenth-place finish overall on the 6,163-yard, par 72, layout at The Farms Country Club following the third round today.

Sophomore Jaelyn DeBoise rounded out her tournament tied for 36th in the field of 73 golfers after her season-low matching round of 80 today completed a three-round total of 241 (80-81-80), marking her lowest 54-hole tournament score of the season. Her score today led the Skyhawks as she carded a birdie on the par-four 15th hole to finish the three rounds with eight holes under par, posting identical nines of 40.

Stonehill finished tenth in the 13-team field with a three-round team score of 992, including a 329 score today that matched Monday's second round score. The Skyhawks finished three shots behind ninth place Bryant University (326-328-335=989) and ahead of the University of Hartford (335-342-322=999) by ten strokes. Stonehill's top four in its lineup all finished within 12 shots of each other after three rounds, with today's scores in the top five separated by just six shots.

Host Quinnipiac University took the team title by 14-strokes over Dartmouth College as the Bobcats shot a tournament low 296 today to finish with a three-round score of 895, with Dartmouth posting a 909-team score after a second-straight 304 team score. Quinnipiac's Leeyen Peralta posted the lone round under par on Tuesday at one-under-par 71 to finish three over par (219) and earn medalist honors over Yale University's Mia Sessa (76-74-72=222) by three strokes.

  • Freshman Sydney Hidalgo capped the two-day event with an 85 today to finish tied for 46th overall at 248 (84-79-85). She posted nine pars over her round, shooting a 40 on the back nine.
  • Freshman Helen Brodahl moved up to a tie for 50th overall after her 81 today, posting 12 pars and shooting one-over-par 37 on the back nine. She finished the tournament with 31 pars over her 56 holes this week posting a three-round score of 250 (84-85-81).
  • Freshman Carol Pignato finished tied for 54th at 253 (86-84-83). The posted a birdie on the par-four second hole and added seven pars to her round.
  • Freshman Kenna Roman rounded out the Stonehill lineup in 66th place after an 86 today for a three-round score of 269 (89-94-86). She carded a birdie on the par-four 17th hole today.
  • Senior Hannah Pignato finished 70th overall after her 92 today completed a final score of 287 (102-93-92).
