Skyhawk duo score in the 70s in second round to lead the way

PALM CITY, Fla. (February 12, 2024) – Stonehill College saw two golfers make their way up the leaderboard with solid rounds to highlight second round women's golf play at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Carolina Greensboro, on the 6,066-yard, par-72 layout at Hammock Creek Golf Club today.

Sophomore Jaelyn DeBoise was among the big movers under windy conditions in today's second round, along with freshman Helen Brodahl with her second-straight round in the 70s. DeBoise moved 16 spots up the individual leaderboard after carding a second-round 76 for a two-day score of 161 that is tied for 59th overall out of 82 entries. Her season-low round was highlighted by four birdies, including three on the front nine (her second nine of the day) to shoot two-under 34 on the front. Her first birdie of the afternoon on the par-5 17th hole steadied her round after a three-hole stretch from 14-16 saw her shoot seven-over-par with two double-bogeys and a triple. DeBoise made the turn and responded to a bogey on the par-4 third with birdies on three of her next four holes, including back-to-back on the par-4 fourth and fifth holes, before her fourth birdie came on the par-4 seventh. She also totaled ten pars on her round.

Brodahl followed up an opening round 77 on Sunday with a 78 today and moved eight spots up the leaderboard to a tie for 29th with a two-day score of 155 - seven shots out of the top ten. She made the turn at one-over-par on the back nine, posting her lone birdie of her round on the par-4 18th, to finish off a one-over-par 37 over her opening nine holes. Brodahl carded 12 pars today after shooting ten on Sunday and now has three birdies over her first two rounds.
