EASTON, Mass. (June 28, 2022)- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field All-Region honorees earlier last week. The Stonehill College women's track and field program had 11 earn All-Region honors.

The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events. Stonehill's women totaled 11 and the men earned six. The Northeast-10 Conference led all Division II conferences with a grand total of 181 student-athletes earning All-Region accolades.

Seniors Jillian Howard and Krista Stracqualursi earned multiple honors for the respective events they competed in this past spring. Howard earned USTFCCCA honors for her strong performances in both the 1500m and the 3000m steeplechase. In the 1500m, Howard ran a career-best, 4:42.96 at the Skyhawks Invitational which ranked fourth in the NE10. In the steeplechase and for her second time ever competing in the race, Howard set a personal record with a time of 10:57.45 at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which not only was the second-fastest time in the conference but also qualified as an NCAA provisional.

Stracqualursi's USTFCCCA accolades came via her results in shotput and discus during the outdoor season. In shotput, the senior set a personal record at the UMass Lowell Invitational with a toss of 12.87m (42' 2.75") for second place which ended up being the longest through in the entire conference. In the discus, Stracqualrusi notched a season-best throw at 37.51m (123' 1") at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships which was the third-best in the NE10 this past spring.

Isabelle Angelini earned her first career USTFCCCA All-Region honor courtesy of her career-best throw in the javelin at the Merrimack Alumni Classic when she had a mark of 37.22m (122' 1"). Her new top throw marked the second-longest toss in the NE10.

Sophomores Cassidy Becker and Kaytlin Encarnacao also earned All-Region honors, as Becker earned it in the heptathlon and Encarnacao in the 400m. Becker totaled 3895 points (personal record) at the NE10 Championship where she earned her second All-Region nod and Encarnacao placed fourth overall in the 400m crossing the finish line with a career-best time of 57.21 seconds and claimed her first All-Region honor. Becker's score in the heptathlon was ranked fifth-best in the NE10 whereas Encarnacao's time in the 400m was the third-fasted in the conference.

Rebecca Erhard claimed USTFCCCA All-Region honors as she had a career performance in the 10,000m at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 38:11.40 (fourth place). Her time at the meet was the fourth-best in the entire NE10.

In her first season, freshman thrower, Madison Gunderway took home her first USTFCCCA accolades in the hammer throw courtesy of her performance at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. At the meet, Gunderway's throw was a career-high 44.68m (146' 7") for second place which ended up being the third farthest toss in the conference.

Pole vaulters, Abigail Larsson and Haley Lightbody earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for their second and third times respectively. Larsson claimed USTFCCCA recognition for setting a new personal best at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a leap of 3.31m (10' 10.25") for second place. For the conference, Larsson's mark ended up being the third-highest for the season. Meanwhile, Lightbody posted a season-best mark of 3.35m (10' 11.75") at the Holy Cross Invitational for a top-10 finish (seventh). However, her jump was tied for the best in the NE10 this season.

Victoria Lombardi earned her first USTFCCCA All-Region nod after she ran a personal record in the 5000m at the NE10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. At the meet, Lombardi crossed the finish line with a time of 17:47.38. Her mark ended up being the fourth fasted time in the NE10.

Madison Rousseau took home her first USTFCCCA All-Region honors for her record-setting performance at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 100m hurdles. At the NEICAAA's, Rousseau broke a seven-year school record when she notched a sixth-place finish with a time of 14.38 seconds. Her time not only was a school record but was also the third fastest in the conference.

Stonehill wrapped up the season by taking third place at the NE10 Outdoor Championships and marked the eighth year in a row the team has finished within the top three. The Skyhawks also sent two to the New England Outdoor Championships.
