EASTON, Mass. (January 11, 2022)- Freshman sprinter, Meghan Sambrook was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the first time as announced by the conference earlier this afternoon. It is Sambrook's first honor from the NE10 in her collegiate career.

Last week at Harvard University for the Harvard Multi & Beantown Challenge, Sambrook competed in the 500-meter race and posted a top-10 finish (eighth) with an impressive time of 1:23.48 which notched a point for the Skyhawks on the afternoon.

Sambrook so far has had a strong start to her Stonehill career as she has finished in the top-10 in each meet. She also competed in the Art Kadish Elm City Invitational hosted by Sothern Connecticut State when she raced in the 600-meter race. In the 600-meter, she posted a time of 1:46.15 for a second-place finish.

Meanwhile, junior Haley Lightbody was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for her performance last week at Harvard. Lightbody competed in both the pole vault and long jump where she posted solid results. In the pole vault, she posted a mark of 2.96 meters (11th place) and in the long jump, she set a new season-high of 4.98 meters (16th).
