Vo Earns ITA East Region Senior Player of the Year Honors

Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, graduate is just the second in program history to receive regional award

ITA Announces 2020 Division II Regional Award Winners

EASTON, Mass. (May 27, 2020) – Stonehill College senior Alexandra Vo has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Senior Player of the Year for the East Region the association announced.

Vo, named Stonehill's Fr. William Gartland, CSC, Female Senior Student-Athlete earlier this month, is just the second Stonehill women's tennis player to earn Senior Player of the Year honors from the ITA, joining Amy Toegemann, '12 who was selected after the 2011-12 academic year. Vo helped lead the Skyhawks to four-straight Northeast-10 Conference regular season championships, four-straight NCAA Tournament bids and the 2018 and 2019 NE10 Tournament Championships over the course of her four-year career.


Vo is the second in program history to earn ITA East Region Senior Player of the Year accolades.

The six-time All-NE10 performer earned All-NE10 first team honors at No. 2 singles as a freshman, sophomore and senior and No. 2 doubles as a sophomore, while also collecting All-NE10 second team honors at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles her junior year. Vo finished her career ranked No. 10 in the Oracle/ITA Division II East Region singles rankings and reached the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Division II East Region singles championship as a senior after advancing to the Round of 16 the two previous years.

Vo is a two-time NE10 All-Championships team selection was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 NE10 Championship, providing the match-clinching point in Stonehill's 5-1 win over Le Moyne College in the championship. She posted a perfect 40-0 record in NE10 singles matches over the course of her career, finishing 53-15 in singles and posting a career combined record of 92-46 in singles and doubles play, overall, including a combined 66-10 in the NE10. The 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team selection has earned ITA All-Academic Team honors and been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll status multiple semesters.

Stonehill finished its 2019-20 season with a 12-3 record overall, including 9-1 in the NE10 to claim a share of its tenth regular season championship, winning the NE10 Tournament for the second-straight year and seventh time in program history. The Skyhawks has clinched the NE10's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this spring, which would have been the program's sixth-straight NCAA bid and 14th in program history overall.
