EASTON, Mass. (February 25, 2020) – Stonehill College freshman Christian Duffy has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week for men's tennis for the third time, the league office announced today.

Duffy was among four double-winners for Stonehill in its lone match of the week, a 6-1 victory over Wheaton College on Sunday, posting wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. Duffy and sophomore Vincent Huynh didn't drop a game in posting their win at No. 2 doubles that led to a sweep of the three doubles matches for the Skyhawks. Duffy followed that up with a quick 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against Wheaton sophomore Ian Tracy for the Skyhawks third point in the match.

Duffy, who earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors twice during the fall season, has posted a combined 11-5 record in singles and doubles play through the first half of his freshman season at Stonehill. He is 4-3 in singles play to go with a 7-2 doubles mark with four different playing partners. Duffy and senior Samuel Miller are 4-1 as a pairing, winning the B-Flight title at the season-opening Stonehill Doubles Invitational.

Stonehill (5-0, 0-0 NE10) hits the road for a pair of matches against regionally ranked teams, starting Saturday at Queens (N.Y.) College, ranked No. 3 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region rankings at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks face No. 5 Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Sunday at Queens at 3 p.m. Stonehill's next home match is its NE10 opener against Assumption College on Sunday, March 22, at 1 p.m.
