Ravichandrakumar Named NE10 Player of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (March 22, 2020) – Stonehill College senior Manu Ravichandrakumar has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for men's tennis by the league office this week.

Ravichandrakumar earns NE10 Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career after posting a combined 4-2 record in singles and doubles play over three matches for Stonehill on its spring break trip last week. He won both of his matches at No. 5 singles for the Skyhawks and went 2-1 in doubles play with three different playing partners.

Ravichandrakumar was a double-winner in Stonehill's 5-2 win over West Chester (Pa.) University, posting a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles against Noah DeCampo, after combining with freshman Ben Simmons for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Ravichandrakumar was also a double-winner against Dallas Baptist University, combining with sophomore Juan Camilo Riano Rojas for a 6-4 decision at No. 2 doubles and then battled to a 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 win at No. 5 singles against Josh Williams.

Ravichandrakumar posted a combined record of 8-7 in singles and doubles play for the 2019-20 season, including a 2-3 record in singles play, to go with a 6-4 doubles record with five different playing partners. He and Riano Rojas have teamed up to post a 3-0 record in doubles play this season.

Ravichandrakumar, an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman, has posted a combined record of 46-50 in singles and doubles play over his career. He has posted a 19-24 singles record, including 7-11 in the NE10, with a 27-26 doubles mark, including 8-11 in the NE10. Ravichandrakumar has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award, as well as the College's St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team. He has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll all seven semesters, receiving Academic Distinction status the last three semesters for having a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99, as well as the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester.

Stonehill finishes its season with a 6-4 record overall, upon the announcement from the NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference members that spring championship seasons would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
