Newman posted wins at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Skyhawks today

Newman and White lead Skyhawks to second fall win

BEVERLY, Mass. (September 25, 2019) – Stonehill College returned to dual match play with a 7-2 victory over Endicott College in non-conference men's tennis action at South Campus Courts this afternoon.

Juniors Trent Newman and Russell White led Stonehill as double-winners in the match. The duo combined for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles for the Skyhawks and then Newman added a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles against Endicott freshman Brennan Nick. White provided the match-clinching point for the Skyhawks with his 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles over sophomore Cooper Walters.

Sophomore Vincent Huynh rounded out Stonehill's double-winners. He opened by combining with freshman Torran Herbert for a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Huynh followed that up with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles against sophomore Colin DiNardo. Senior Aaron Diamond and sophomore Juan Camilo Riano Rojas also earned singles wins for the Skyhawks.

DiNardo and Walters posted a win for Endicott at No. 2 doubles, while junior Daniel Rinkert battled past Stonehill freshman Christian Duffy for a 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 10-4 victory at No. 2 singles.

Stonehill (2-0, 0-0 NE10) returns to action next Wednesday, October 2, when it visits Clark University at 3:30 p.m. The Skyhawks next home match is Friday, October 11, when it hosts the University of the District of Columbia at 11 a.m. Endicott (0-1, 0-0 CCC) visits Springfield College on Sunday, October 6.
