EASTON, Mass. (September 18, 2019) – Stonehill College freshman Christian Duffy has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's tennis by the league office.

Duffy has enjoyed a strong start to his Stonehill career, posting a combined 4-2 record in singles and doubles play over the first two weeks of the season. He teamed up with senior Samuel Miller to win the B-Flight bracket at the season-opening Stonehill Doubles Invitational. The duo went 3-1 over the two weeks, posting a 6-4 win over Connecticut College's Evan Goldsmith and SangJin Song in the final of the Stonehill Doubles Invite. Duffy also advanced to the main draw of this weekend's USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region singles championship, posting an 8-0 sweep of Erik Jorsal, from Chestnut Hill College, in the second round of qualifiers on Friday night after receiving a first round bye.

Duffy, who is expected to compete at No. 2 singles and doubles for Stonehill, is now a combined 6-2 overall in singles and doubles play. He is 2-1 in singles play, to go with a 4-1 doubles record with Miller.

Stonehill (1-0, 0-0 NE10) is back in action on Saturday, when it competes at the Connecticut College Invitational in New London, Connecticut, at 10 a.m.
