The Game
Stonehill College hits the road for the final weekend of the season as it renews its series with Long Island University for a Northeast Conference football matchup at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium this afternoon

Media Info
The game is being broadcast on NEC Front Row with Peter Schwartz calling the action. Links to the video webcast are available on this page or via the Stonehill football schedule page. The broadcast can be accessed via stonehillskyhawks.com through its NEC Front Row portal (necfrontrow.com/schools/SC) or through Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku via the NEC On the Run App.

Against LIU
This afternoon marks the 18th meeting all-time between these two former Northeast-10 Conference opponents. LIU merged with the athletic deprtment formerly known as LIU Post following the 2018-19 academic year, and while LIU didn't sponsor football prior to that, all records against LIU Post stand now as from LIU. The Sharks hold a 14-3 advantage in the series that dates back to 1997, having won the last three matchups, including a 27-7 victory in Easton, Massachusetts, their last encounter in 2018. Stonehill is 2-6 all-time against the Shawks on Long Island.

Last Time Out
Stonehill saw five different players reach the end zone and racked up almost 400-yards rushing in returning to the win column with a 50-10 triumph over Wagner in a Northeast Conference (NEC) matchup at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Junior running back Jermaine Corbett paced the Stonehill rushing attack with a season-high 227 yards on 16 carries with three touchdowns as he averaged 14.2 yards per carry for the game. He posted the second 200-yard rushing game of his career and surpassed 100-yards for the third time this season (fourth career), scoring on touchdown runs of 32, 59 and 74 yards on the day. Junior Matt Arvanitis added 88 yards on 11 carries with a score, while classmate Tom Comella reached the end zone twice on six touches as Stonehill finished the day with 399 rushing yards, averaging 9.5 yards on its rushing plays, of the 617 yards of total offense it recorded for the afternoon, marking the Skyhawks first 600-yard day since posting a program-record 662 against MIT on October 2, 1994. Both teams scored on their opening possessions, but it was Stonehill with an early edge as the Skyhawks answered a 21-yard Wagner field goal by sophomore Austin Hosier with a touchdown in just six plays, capped by Corbett's first score of the day on a 32-yard run with 7:42 to play in the opening frame. Corbett extended the Stonehill lead to 14-3 with 25-seconds left in the quarter with a 59-yard touchdown run on fourth and an inch, to cap a seven-play, 78-yard drive. Wagner pulled back within four (14-10) with a seven play, 66-yard drive, capped by a one-yard touchdown toss less than three minutes into the second quarter. Stonehill would follow with 17-straight points before halftime on its way to 36 unanswered points to win its second NEC game of the season running away. Corbett capped his touchdown hat trick with a 74-yard run (the longest of his career) with 5:33 remaining in the third quarter, one play after Wagner missed on a 37-yard field goal.

Offensive Player of the Week Again
Stonehill junior Jermaine Corbett earned Northeast Conference (NEC) Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season on Monday. Corbett, who was also named an NEC Prime Performer for the third time this fall, led a Stonehill rushing attack that piled up a W.B. Mason Stadium record 399 yards on the ground as part of a Stadium record 617 total yards in Saturday's 50-10 victory over Wagner College. He posted a season-high 227 yards on 16 carries with a season-high matching three touchdowns, averaging 14.2 yards per carry in posting his third 100-yard rushing game of the season with the highest yardage total in the NEC this fall by surpassing 200 yards for the second time in his career. Corbett raced to touchdowns of 32, 59 and 74 yards in the Skyhawks second NEC win of the season. Corbett's 74-yard touchdown run with 5:33 left in the third quarter gave Stonehill a 38-10 lead and marked the seventh-longest rush in W.B. Mason Stadium history, while his yardage total is the eighth-highest total in the Skyhawks home's history – the sixth-highest by a Stonehill player.
