2022 Stonehill Football Schedule (Game Times Added)

EASTON, Mass. (August 2, 2022) – The Stonehill College football program has had two games during its inaugural Northeast Conference schedule listed among the Conference's ESPN Game of the Week package to be broadcast as the program begins its transition to NCAA Division I Football Championship Series competition with the 2022 season the Conference announced along with its full schedule today.

Stonehill's NEC debut against Duquesne University on Saturday, October 1, at noon will mark the third time the football program has hosted a television game at W.B. Mason Stadium after appearing on CBS Sports Network against the University of New Haven in 2012 as well as a matchup with the Chargers on ESPN3 in 2016. The NEC has also listed Stonehill's October 22 matchup at Saint Francis (Pa.) University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, at 1 p.m., as part of the ESPN3 package. The television package also includes two "wild card" dates on November 12 and 19 that are targeted for key late season games on the NEC regular season schedule that could also be picked up by ESPN3.

The ESPN package announcement marks the tenth consecutive year that the NEC and ESPN3 will team up on an exclusive football streaming package. The nine game slate marks the biggest ESPN package in NEC history and spotlights each of the Conference's eight teams at least once at home and on the road. Select NEC games will be delivered through ESPN streaming services on the web and via the ESPN App across smartphones, tablets and connected devices. The games will be available to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. Longtime play-by-play announcer Paul Dottino returns to the booth for the NEC games this fall, and he will be joined by color analyst Kevin Gilbride, a two-time Super Bowl champion coach.

Stonehill's October 1 matchup with Duquesne will not only mark the Skyhawks debut in the NEC, but the game will also be part of Family Weekend at the College and the football program will be celebrating 50 years of Stonehill football that day as well. After announcing its inaugural NCAA FCS schedule in June, the College has also released start times for its full 2022 schedule. Except for the Duquesne game, the remaining four home games this fall will kick off at 1 p.m.

Stonehill finished its final Northeast-10 Conference season in 2021 with an 8-2 record overall, including a 6-2 mark in the Conference to finish third in the final regular season standings. The Skyhawks capped their season with three-straight wins to reach the eight win mark for the first time since its NE10 regular season championship campaign in 2013 (8-3), while posting its first 8-2 season since 1996. The Skyhawks finished 6-2 in NE10 play for the first time since posting an 8-1 mark in 2013. Stonehill opens its 2022 season with a non-conference matchup at Bloomsburg (Pa.) University on Saturday, September 3, at 2 p.m. The Skyhawks home opener is the following Saturday against Post University at W.B. Mason Stadium on September 10 at 1 p.m.
