ANDOVER, Massachusetts (April 6, 2023)- Today, the Stonehill College softball team hit the road for an away conference match-up as a part of a two-day series against Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts, where the Skyhawks fought hard, but ended with a loss of 0-14.

Standout Performances:

• Maeve Proulx: Single & SB
• Shannon Conte: Single

Key Moments:

• In the top of the second inning, third basemen Shannon Conte hit a far ball to right field, making it to first base and earning a single for the Skyhawks.
• In the top of the third inning, right fielder Maeve Proulx singled to center field, making it to first. Shortly after, Proulx was quick to be safe on her steal second base before the end of the inning.
• In the top of the fourth inning, DH Paige Wodarski reached first base on an error by Merrimack's second basemen. Pinch runner Katelin Price took over for Wodarski at first base and stole second base right after.
• In the bottom of the fourth, with the Skyhawks taking the field, Merrimack had a runner make it to first on a fielder's choice, allowing two Merrimack runners to make it to second and third. But, second basemen Courtney Brochu threw out a Merrimack runner at home to catcher Isabella Therrien, stopping Merrimack from scoring. 
• The Skyhawks had three pitchers throughout the game, starting with Skylar Brandemarte, who threw 53 strikes, and two strikeouts. Next, Kelly Mayette took to the mound, throwing 7 strikes. And lastly, Lauren Donovan finished the game with 8 strikes.

Loss: Stonehill- Skylar Brandemarte (81-53), Kelly Mayette (13-7), Lauren Donovan (19-8)
